The poses are held with the muscles fully relaxed\, allowing time and gravity to deepen the stretch and target the fascia. Rose Mary creates an inviting approach to be comfortable in each posture while enriching each class with poetry and prose.

Offered on the evening of the April new moon our playlist is an invitation to dance your own blossoming. \n \nWednesday April 19th\, 6-7:15p\n$15 in Advance\, $20 Drop In\n@ Yoga Highlands Studio\, 460 Carolina Way\n\nWhat is a Dance Wave?Dancing without the need to follow any specific steps\, abandon pretense\, allow yourself to experience the rhythm and move freely.\nDancers have described themselves as feeling more connected to their own emotions\, and to their fellow humans after having danced in community space. The dance serves as a form of meditation\, helping people to release stress and to attain serenity. \nWhat can I expect? \nWe will begin with an opening circle\, during which our facilitator Rachel will introduce some basic guidelines. The group will then enter an hour of non-verbal time together for our dance “wave”. The “wave” of music will be an eclectic mix of world beats\, instrumental and positively affirming lyrical song. The wave will begin softly\, build to a peak\, and then gently carry the dancers back to stillness. At the end of our hour-long dance there will be a few minutes of stillness. We will conclude with a closing circle. \n\nWe practice moving in healthy community by:Arriving on time for the opening circle.\nMaintaining a nonverbal dance space.\nShowing up with clean clothes\, body\, and mind – encouraging a substance-free experience without use of strong scents.\nDancing in bare feet\, socks or dance specific shoes.\nLeaving electronic devices off the dance floor.\nParticipating as dancers\, instead of as performers or spectators.\nHolding spatial awareness.\nHonoring boundaries and practicing consent. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n
